Tips for anxiety and stress management

No one is immune from anxiety; however, some people appear to handle life’s troubles better than others. If you tend to worry more and feel like you’re enjoying life less, here are some suggestions:

  • ┬áTake regular time out to stop what you’re doing and relax by listening to music, meditating or getting a massage.
  • Eat regularly so your body doesn’t stress and stick to a healthy, balanced diet.
  • Reduce caffeine and alcohol consumption as the chemicals in these substances can mimic anxiety symptoms.
  • Get plenty of sleep and exercise regularly – outdoor exercise is much more beneficial than indoor!
  • Give up on the idea that you have to control everything.
  • Laugh – a simple but effective way to reduce stress.
