Welcome to our new psychologist – Beth Keane

We are pleased to welcome Beth Keane to our practice. Beth will be available to see school age children, adolescents and adults for individual counselling on Saturdays. Her profile is below.

I am a registered Psychologist with over 15 years experience as a counsellor. My career journey started in youth therapy working with young people to adapt and overcome behavioural challenges associated with extensive abuse. I have worked as a life line counsellor, and behavioural management specialist. I further developed my capacity for counselling in the education sector in primary, secondary and TAFE settings. I have worked with women returning to work to overcome barriers and improve self esteem. I have an eclectic approach to my work, utilising solution focus therapeutic approaches, drawing therapy, emotional release work, mindfulness and CBT. I currently work in Careers Counselling at QUT where I assist individuals to redefine and establish achievable goals and to develop a sense of identity, purpose and balance in work and life.

I am looking forward to joining Growth Psychology to build my private practice. In addition to general psychological counselling, I have special interest in the following areas –

· Career development counselling – Work life balance

· Grief & loss

· Emotional Release Counselling, sand play & drawing therapy

· Positive parenting strategies and relationship issues
