Ecotherapy advocates that people have a deep connection to the environment and to the earth itself.  There is research that indicates that by neglecting this innate part of ourselves our well-being can suffer. Ecotherapy involves loosely structure activities such as going for a hike in a forested area, walking along the beach, gardening or other outdoor activities. Research indicates that this approach has many psychological benefits such as increased mindfulness, resilience, and improved well-being.
